New Beginnings

July was a busy month! We finished out our jobs in Norman and Cacey finished his classes for grad school. We made the big move down to San Antonio last Saturday, and have had a busy but fun first week!
Cacey was busy getting his classroom ready and attending new teacher orientation this week. He met the rest of his team that he'll be working with this year. Everyone has been so friendly and have really made us feel at home! Cacey just left this morning for their staff retreat in Comfort, TX. Please be praying for him as he continues to plan for this year. He has been given lots of information in a short amount of time and is still trying to process/remember everything. He loves ISA so far and is really excited about teaching there!
I have been getting our "boarding room" at my parents' house organized and looking homey. We've looked at some houses with my mom and found a few that we are interested in. I've been assisting my mom with realtor things this week and having a blast spending time with her!
It still feels like we're just visiting, and I'm sure it will take a while for i
t to feel like this is our home. As many of you know, we love to find new places to eat/hang out and we have found 2 already that I didn't even know about. One is called Local Coffee and it is great! (Kind of like Gray Owl for your Norman peeps) We also went to The Cove last night which was incredible. It is very "Austinesque" (I just invented a word), with lots of yummy organic food (including the best sweet potatoe fries ever!!), and live music!
So far we are loving San Antonio! Come visit us!

Anniversary Trip and a Little More!

We were able to take a week off of work to go down to Austin/San Antonio for our anniversary! It was great to get away and spend some quality time together before the craziness of July begins.

Cacey was also able to meet with his principal and the dean of curriculum to get lots of books so that he can start planning his lessons for next year. He is really excited but also a little overwhelmed about how much he needs to do before school begins. He is getting ready to start his last round of classes for grad school which is very exciting!

I was able to interview with San Antonio Christian Schools (my alma mater) while I was down there about a Bible position. I wasn't offered the job because I don't have any formal Bible training. It was a really good for me to see if it would be something I would be interested in doing in the future. Right now I'm considering subbing while we adjust and look for a house.

God has been so faithful to us in all of these big decisions. He has clearly opened and closed doors for us which is what we've been asking Him to do.
Our last day of work will be July 23 and then we will make the big move August 3. Please be praying for us as we prepare for this transition, that it would go smoothly and that we would continue to see God at work in all of it. Also pray that we will continue to be faithful during our last month in Norman, and that we would get to spend good time with friends and family while we can!

Big Changes

So, as many of you heard via facebook, Cacey was offered two jobs in San Antonio on Thursday!! He decided to take the job at the magnet school (International School of the Americas). He will be teaching Pre-Calc and AP Calc. We are so excited about this job because it's exactly the content that Cacey wanted to teach and in an awesome school that fits his teaching philosophy! He will need to be there August 6 for a staff retreat and orientation. We are planning on moving down there throughout July and plan to move permanently August 2 or 3. If you want to learn more about Cacey's school go here : http://www.neisd.net/isa/

It has been so neat to see how God answered our prayers specifically and in big ways! He truly did more than we could ever imagine! We are house-hunting right now and are going to try to find something before we move down there.

I am currently job-searching. I really have no idea what I want to do, so I'm up for anything.

We are so so so excited about these changes and know that God will be faithful through it all. We will definitely miss our friends and favorite places in Norman, but we are excited about making more friends and finding new places in San Antonio!

Thanks everyone whose been praying with us about this! God is good!

Update on Life

Hey friends!!

Sorry it's taken me so long to update this...I forgot our login info and had to figure out how to find it. It has been an extremely busy semester for us!

Cacey just finished his spring classes and will start summer classes with a weekend class starting today. He will finish all his coursework at the end of July and will work on his thesis during the fall semester. He is currently searching for teaching jobs in Texas. He has applied all over the place and had an interview in Argyle, TX last Monday. It went really well so we are just waiting to hear back. For those of you who have no idea where Argyle is...it's about 5 miles south of Denton and 30 min north of Fort Worth. We really like the area and know of lots of great churches around there. He was also called for another interview in Millsap, TX which is close to Mineral Wells, about 45 min. from Fort Worth. We aren't as excited about this one because it is in the middle of nowhere, TX, but we'll see what happens.

God has really been teaching us a lot this semester about trusting Him and remembering that he has a perfect plan for our lives! We are super excited about this new stage we will be entering but are really trying to focus on where God has us right now as well.

I'm still working at OU which has been good and hard. Many of you know that I don't really enjoy what I do, but I do love being on campus. God has been teaching me that I won't find joy or contentment in my job or anything else except for Him...I feel like this is a life-long lesson for me.

We ran the OKC 1/2-marathon at the end of April which was lots of fun! It was our second one to run together and we're planning on running the SA 1/2 in November again. Running has really been a great thing for us to do as a couple. It gives us great time to talk!

We are definitely going to be better about updating this...now that I know how to login! :)
