End of Semester 1

Well, the semester has officially ended for us. Cacey finished up his last final on Tuesday and is anxiously awaiting his grades to come in before Christmas. Since we haven't updated in a while, I'll give you a good synopsis of how the semester went and where we're headed. It went well. It went quickly.I'm still working at the Bursar's office at OU and I'm about to finish my Nutrition class on Thursday. Cacey finished semester 1 and is at the half-way point in his degree. He's still working at Starbucks and likes it. We've been really busy, but we're thankful for a nice break to regroup and to start preparing for next semester. Some new hobbies we've picked up along the way: Latte art, banjo pickin', photography, making espresso at home, and running marathons. We ran in the San Antonio 1/2 Marathon in November. It was really fun and festive. There's nothing quite like running along with mariachi bands!Next semester we are going to be taking more classes, but I think we might have to drop a few of the extracurricular stuff in order to alleviate some of the business. We'll see if that happens or not... Thanks for all your support!

Back to School!!

Well Cacey and I have officially survived our first week of classes and are now in week 2! I am loving my Nutrition class! I feel like I have finally found something that interests and excites me. I always look forward to going to class and actually enjoy the assigments we're given. I definitely feel like an over-achiever because I actually do the assignments when we receive them and read the book! I'm also taking Psychology which isn't quite as exciting, but not too bad overall. It has been so fun to take classes again and I can't wait to see where this leads me.
Cacey's classes are much harder than mine (not hard to imagine since he is a math ed grad student) :0). One of his prof's told the class that they would need to spend 8-10 hours each week on homework in order to do well. Needless to say Cacey is enjoying his classes, but a little worried about all the outside work.
This new stage has definitely been an adjustment for us. While it's been really fun and exciting, it's also caused us to take a closer look at how we're spending our time so that we can not only do well in our classes but also maintain relationships with friends, each other, and most importantly with Jesus!
Please be praying for us as we continue to learn how to live well in this place we're in. Keep us updated on your lives too!

So it's been a while since we last posted. Work has been crazy recently due to the fact that they remodeled our entire office. We finally got our new desks last week so now I'm playing catch-up. Classes start a week from today!
I have been trying to decide how I feel about all the new changes going on right now, and I think that I'm excited but also anxious about everything that's going on. I am looking forward to taking classes and I think that I will feel much better after I get a routine established. Cacey is excited about this fall and looking forward to learning lots about math...this is still foreign to me.
My little (big) brother, Mark, just moved to college yesterday! He is a freshman at ACU. It makes me feel really old now that he is starting college and it brings back lots of memories! We are planning on visiting him sometime in September to see what life in Abilene is like.
This summer has really flown by! We've had so much going on between working, classes, and just living life. We are really looking forward to this semester even though it will be an adjustment. We know that God will teach us great things and pray that we will continue to grow closer to Him and each other during this new chapter. Keep us in your prayers!

Sickness

This week didn't start out great...I had some sort of virus and missed 2 days of work. Cacey had been working and giving me new drinks to try. I tried the Carmel Apple Spice which was very good, but a little too sweet for me. I watched lots of Gilmore Girls and caught up on the Bachelorette while I was home. I was a little dissappointed with who she ended up picking but it wasn't really my choice I guess. My mom and Mark are coming to visit this weekend which I am excited about! I love family time! We don't have any set plans, but we might do some fishing with Mark. Norman, our dog, has been testing us recently. This morning while Cacey was in the shower, he decided to chew some blinds. He is also known to steal my undies and destroy them. Places that used to be out of Norman's reach are no longer safe. I'm working on new hiding places. I am glad to be feeling better and back at work!

Thank you Sarah

The amazing Sarah Dudley deserves all of the credit for making our blog look awesome!!

Starbucks Galore!

Cacey started working at Starbucks this week. He has really enjoyed it so far. He's pretty wired when he comes home because he has been tasting all of the different coffees! He said that he has to take sips of the coffee and then describe how it makes him feel! :) I am loving having a husband that works at Starbucks! We get a free pound of coffee every week and he always brings me home free drinks everyday! This is Cacey's last week of summer class. He has really enjoyed his class and is really excited about taking more this fall. I am officially enrolled in 2 classes for the fall! I will be taking Intro to Nutrition and Psychology. I'm pretty excited about taking classes again, but it should be interesting to do that and work at the same time. This year should be pretty busy with both of us taking classes and working, but we are thankful and excited about where God has us right now!

New Adventures

Cacey started his first grad school class this week. He is going to be getting his Master's in Math Education. He wants to go on to get his PHD so that he can teach at the college level. Next week he is going to start working at Starbucks. We are excited about getting lots of free coffee! I am currently working full-time at OU as a loan representative. I'm trying to take some classes this fall so that I can get the pre-req's that I need to be accepted into OU's dietitian program. We are definitely in a period of transition right now and are learning so much! We want this to be a place where we can keep all of our family and friends updated on what's going on in our lives. Enjoy!
